Understanding UGR values

I appreciate that DIALux does not actually calculate a UGR figure for a room, but simply takes the figure from the a table of luminaire data provided by the manufacturer. Hence why it does not provide a value when the room is not rectangular. How does it generate the multiple values in the "UGR Calc...

Luminous flux shown in Tech data

Am I right in assuming that this is the output of the source not the luminaire, so I would have to multiply this by any appropriate LOR to get the Luminaire Lumens ?

Re: LG7 .... Luminance value

No... that's the relative illuminance on the room surfaces which has long since been superceded.

What I am referring to is the luminance (cd/m.sq) of the fitting at carious viewing angles.

editing a calculation object

Any body experience problems when editing a calculation polygon ?

When I add a point it shifts any cut-outs that I might have created. Quite considerably also.

Where can I confirm the luminance value for a luminaire at 65 degrees as required in LG7 ?

Re: a few simple questions and commenst for an external project

Think I know what the problem is here and hopefully there is a workaround.

The figures include values right up against the kerb, actually in the shadow of the kerb which are therefore very low. Is it possible to delete individual points ?

Re: a few simple questions and commenst for an external project

Point 2 -- after some digging around I have now solved this problem. Point 3 -- This is what I ended up doing but it's not ideal. Point 4 -- I now have bigger problems to worry about having discovered the problems with Point 1. The issue with omitting figures which are intersected by solid objects i...

a few simple questions and commenst for an external project

1/ An apparently well lit car park is still giving a value of "0 Lux" for the minimum and therefore making the figures that the client wants to see an irrelevance. I have used a number of slim floor elements to create the islands within the area. Is it counting the zero values beneath these elements...

Exporting results scene to dwg

When creating the dwg file from DIALux, is it possible for it to create each luminaire type as a block, rather than simply allocate it a layer. Our company's CAD standards include a block library for luminaires and I really need to edit the luminaires as blocks to replicate these. Surely I wont have...

Can I copy a light scene between projects ?

I have an exterior light scene that I want to incorporate into a another. We had designed an exterior car park and have now been asked to add it into the previously created street lighting scene. I have been able to export the car park model as a 3d object and then import it into the other model, bu...
