DIALux evo 8 install crash

Post by aLLux » Sat Oct 13, 2018 12:48 am

Hello,

I'm having the same problem reported on this thread : https://dxboard.dialux.com/viewtopic.ph ... 5&start=20, but with DIALux evo 8.

Windows 10, fresh install and updated. Windoews defender.

I tried all suggestions on the thread and had no success.
I also tried to install on folder c:\dialux, and got the same error.

Here is the log file :

It seems that everybody with this issue is from Brazil, with windows 10 in portuguese. Is it a coincidence ?

Hello aLLux,

We are totally not sure why you get such serious problems. But it could be a problem that Windows has corrupted the DIALux permissions on your computer system with an update in the past. The only way to solve this problem is to manually delete all DIALux components that are still on your computer system after uninstalling DIALux evo.

In the following you will find a list what you must delete on your computer system that you hopefully can install our software product successfully on your computer system:

1. Uninstall everything completely: DIALux evo, DIALux Communication Framework, DIAL Data Dispatcher (see attached screenshot)
2. Delete the program folders of evo (C: \ Program Files \ DIAL GmbH) and (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ DIAL GmbH)
3. Delete also this folder (C: \ ProgramData \ DIAL GmbH)
4. Delete this folder (C: \ Users \ <username> \ AppData \ Local \ DIAL GmbH)

These are our default installation paths. If you have adjusted them, you will need to adjust the paths accordingly.

After this you should restart your computer once and then reinstall evo once again by using the following download link to our new evo 8.0 setup:

DIALux evo 8 Patch 3: https://b2b.dial.de/index.php/s/79MviIzDReBTcmJ

Some users from Brazil informed us that this is a Windows problem with an update. So, it was of help to reinstall the Windows operating system.

Best regards,
DIAL Support Team

Hi,

This was a fresh install of windows 10. There were 17 attempts to install Dialux evo as you can see on temp folder#, but never successful.

Folders (C: \ Program Files \ DIAL GmbH), (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ DIAL GmbH) and (C: \ Users \ <username> \ AppData \ Local \ DIAL GmbH) were not created or already auto deleted.
Folder (C: \ ProgramData \ DIAL GmbH) was there and I deleted it.
But I got the same crash, after the screen asking to confirm folder to install.

I found 5 other users with exactly same problem, since 2017 Oct. :
https://dxboard.dialux.com/viewtopic.ph ... 5&start=20
https://dxboard.dialux.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=85730
https://dxboard.dialux.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=84275

Already tried all suggestions discussed on those threads before posting...Any other ?

Thank you

This error line on log.txt :
[10/18/2018 18:23:13] Error Script: Dependency Installation Script: AntiHack, [123]: File.Copy(strRuntimeSupportFolder.."\\DialComUpdater.exe", updaterPath, false, true); (1022)

Is already created BEFORE the screen asking for the install folder.

I hope its a clue.

Thank you

Hello Fabio,

Thanks for your information, unfortunately the "Error Script: Dependency Installation Script: AntiHack, [123]: File.Copy(strRuntimeSupportFolder.."\\DialComUpdater.exe", updaterPath, false, true); (1022)" message has nothing to do with the problem. We try to restore a file needed by DIALux which some programs remove. We did not consider a fresh installation were the folder is not already created but besides the error message in the log file this has no consequences, the setup will not stop working.

We know that there are users with this problem, but we are not able to reproduce the problem on our systems. I heard the first time about these problems shortly after a Windows 10 upgrade, I think it was the "Fall Creators Update". This may or may not be coincidence. We did not change the evo or Dx4 setup when the problem starts. We did tests with Windows 7 to Windows 10, with or without the latest updates, updates from an older evo version and clean installs, we changed everything on Windows 10 to "Brazil - Portuguese": nothing, the setup and evo work as expected.

There may or may not be a driver or other program that is incompatible with the setup there may be a problem within our setup that affects only 0,01% of the systems, we have no clue, sorry.

Best regards
Kolja

I found a way. Long way, but works.

I formated the drive and reinstalled win 10 pro build 1803 brazilian protuguese.
Installed my video driver.
Installed Dialux evo 8 with no problems
installed all my specifc drivers and software
Did a win update.

Dialux continued o work !

Thank you

Fabio
