Evo 8.1 crashes after calculation

Post by koazc » Mon Jan 14, 2019 9:21 pm

Hello,

After running the calculations on a model I can just about orbit for a little while before the program crashes, freezing the computer in the process. I tried it on 2 different PCs. The model is available here(for 7 days).
This started happening at some point(don't quite know which :? ). Any ideas why this happens? Can anyone replicate the behavior?

Thank you in advance,

Hello koazc,

I have tried it on my system and can replicate the issue. Here is the error message:

ERROR ...: Unbehandelte Ausnahme: Insufficient memory to continue the execution of the program.
System.OutOfMemoryException
Insufficient memory to continue the execution of the program.
at System.Windows.Media.Composition.DUCE.Channel.SyncFlush()
at System.Windows.Media.MediaContext.NotifyChannelMessage()
...

After calculation the charting generation consumes most of the available RAM (>12GB on my machine). We have already an open bug ticket concerning this issue planned for the next patch.

As a workaround I would suggest to disable the automatic charting generation for the project:

Hello kvkozierowski,

Thank you very much for your support and quick reply!
Only the first checbox was checked in my case. I unchecked it and tried again. But no luck :( The problem is still there, crashing with the BSOD's VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL stop code.
I've run out of options at this point, I'll probably have to wait for the patch.

Thank you,

Yes, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait for the next patch.
