Dialux Evo - Overcast Sky type

Post by ethanduff1 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 1:40 am

Hello there,

I am a new user and am trying to understand how the overcast sky type is calculated. Specifically I would like to know if the overcast sky type is uniformly overcast with rotational symmetry. I.e. the sky luminance level does not change, rather it remains constant no matter where you look.

Many thanks in advance!

Dear ethanduff1,

The overcast sky according to CIE 110-1994 has the rotationally symmetrical luminance distribution:

L (sun height) = 1/3 * (1 + 2 * sin (sun)) * Zenith luminance

In the case of a uniform sky, however, the luminance L is constant, so it does not depend on the celestial point.

Thanks!

So is there an option for a uniform design sky in Dialux Evo? One that has a uniform luminance independent of celestial point?

Cheers,
Ethan

Dear Saturnay,

We will think about this wish and will add it as a new point to our improvement list of evo.

Best regards,
