Emergency Lighting - Again.

Any plans to include emergency lighting in Evo yet?
This is becoming ridiculous.

Hello,

Yes, there are plans, but not for the upcoming evo 9.0

Best Regards

Well that's pretty rubbish.
Do you take UK users seriously?

Yes, of course.
Emergency lighting is a very important feature but it is not part of the development for the evo 9.0.
It is currently sheduled for the next major realese after the evo 9.0 ("evo 10.0").

Thank you.
When is 10 due for release?
It's incredibly frustrating to have to do work twice.
And you're shedding UK users to Relux...which is not a software I like.

Sorry, we do not know when we will release the evo 10 now.
We are currently finishing the evo 9.0 to release it at the end of 2019 or early 2020. Normally we release the next major version 6-12 months afterwards.

Well best I book myself on a Relux course then. At least they appear to care.
Dialux 4 is painful to use.

Are you serious?? Earlier this year you said that you plan to introduce emergency lighting to evo at the end of 2019 or early 2020, and now you say something different, that's terrible. Dialux 4 is such a pain, I was really looking forward to throw it into the bin very soon... As we speak, I have to recreate a building model in Dialux 4 instead of just adding emergency lighting in evo. Argh...

Couldn't have put it better myself.
At least while we're waiting they could upgrade dial 4. At least allow the import of rooms from Evo. And tidy up the output section. And make it less clunky.

I do not know who said this but it was certainly not me.
In evo 9.0 there will be major improvements in the documentation, the luminaire placement and the handling of outdoor spaces. That are all topics where we receive lots of comlaints.
If it was my personal decision we would have implemented emergency lighting five years ago but there are reasons that we did not.
However it is a very important issue and I am sure it will be one of the nexts subjects for the next evo version (after evo 9.0).

If we would do that you would have to wait for emergency lighting in evo even longer. I am sure nobody wants this. evo is the successor of DIALux 4 and there will bei no import for evo projects in DIALux 4.
