Irregular shaped roof

Post by evolve520 » Thu May 07, 2020 5:38 pm

I am trying to create an irregular shaped pyramid roof on an octagonal shaped building. Using the draw roof tool only allows a square shaped roof. How can I create a pyramid shaped roof in that shape? Any help appreciated.

Hello evolve520,

You should create a separate storey for the roof and construct a separate room for each roof section into the attic. In this way, many open holes in the roof should be closed, because when you construct a room, new walls can always be created.

If gaps continue to be visible afterwards, you must close them with the help of narrow extrusion volumes. Although this is not an optimal solution, it is the only possible solution for complex roof constructions.

You can only remove overlapping parts with the help of cut-outs.

Have you already taken a look at our helpful video tutorials? Here you can watch a lot of videos that can help you with your planning: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDIALux/videos
