DIALux Bullzip/Windows 10 PDF Print Problem

Post by DanRGray » Mon Sep 19, 2016 4:47 pm

Hi, we are using DIALux 4.12 via Parallels on our Mac machines. Using Windows 7 or 8 we've been able to use Bullzip to PDF our printouts with no problems but there appears to be a compatibility issue with Windows 10. Since using 10 PDF pages are cut down the right hand side and along the bottom of each page.

Also the DIALux interface appears squeezed and some elements can't be seen or expanded.

Any comments or fixes you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Dear DanRGray,

We would like to recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the DIALux version once again. Please update to the current one which is DIALux 4.13. You will find the new setup on our website: https://www.dial.de/en/dialux/download/ ... -download/

In case the problem still exists after an update please get back to us again.

Best regards,

Hi, thank you for getting back to us.

I've now uninstalled DIALux 4.12 and installed 4.13 but all of the problems mentioned still occur.

Dear Mr Gray,

We deeply regret that we have not replied on your issue earlier. We are still analysing this problem in our testing center. Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce it up to now, so we are not sure how we could assist you with a suggestion for solution.
As the analysing process is still running, we hope we could help you soon.

We have just one short question: Do you have a monitor with Ultra HD 4K resolution? Have you already tried to set the resolution lower? We wonder if you could check whether the resolution or other monitor settings have an effect on the user interface of DIALux.

Best regards,
DIAL Support Team

Hi,

One of my clients has this exact same problem. Latest DiaLUX version, Windows 10 running on Parallels on a Mac; printing to PDF crops the right of the page - using any PDF converter (Such as the DiaLUX PDF printer, Cute PDF, Windows own PDF Printer etc). Other programs print to PDF with no problem so is definitely DiaLUX related

I have replicated this on two 12" MacBooks (my client uses a 27" iMac). Both have Retina displays, but this worked ok until recently.

Do you need any more in-depth technical information to help troubleshoot the problem?

I have recently changed to a new laptop ASUS UX330UA Core i7 with the recommended display screen resolution setting of 3200x1800. It is running on Window 10 and I am facing exactly the same partial print out and screen display congested issues. I am using DIALux 4.13 and my main purpose is to run Emergency Lighting Simulation for my works. I have been using DIALux 4.12 on my HP Laptop which later on upgraded from Window 7 to Window 10 and I did not have such issues. Please help!!

I have managed to solve this for my client - it's resolution related. Took a bit of experimenting in the Parallels environment to come up with the correct solution.

Seeing as Ken Tan has just posted the same problem in a native Windows 10 device it does point to DIALux issues on very high resolution displays rather than being specific to Parallels. It will need a proper fix from DAILux by the looks of it

Hi,
I believe I've found a solution to the problem. As mentioned it is a resolution issue but it should be a simple switch within the Parallels/Windows View menu of Retina Resolution and highlight "Scaled" instead of "Best for Retina".

I don't know what impact this may have on other programs but the squeezed look of DIAlux 4 and PDF printing cut-offs are all removed.
