LDT file length and width swapped

Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if it's the normal behavior or an error that after importing an .ldt file to Dialux 4.13, the geometrical dimensions seem to be swapped compared to the ldt file header. I might be mistaken, but I think the length should be C0-C180 and the width C90-C270.

Do you have any suggestion or idea?

Hi mdomse,

Having a look at your attached picture we cannot say which orientation of the photometry and the housing is correct. Both directions are theoretically possible.

But in Europe it is common that the luminaire housing is orientated with a smaller X and a larger Y side for the photometric measurement. C0 points then in direction of X.
DIALux orientates the C0 plane therefore also in direction of the X-axis.

Your photometry has also a smaller X-side so the orientation seems to be ok for us.
The characteristic of the light distribution looks also very typical for a linear shaped luminaire. Often it is more wide than long due to the punctual measurement point.

Our interpretation of the Eulumdat format is different. Line 13 – length is interpreted in DIALux as C90-C270 and line 14 – width as C0-C180.
The same for red and blue colored line in the polar diagram.
