Imported 3D models are grey

Post by adriaan.van.nuffel » Wed Dec 18, 2019 11:36 am

Hi,

I'm trying to import 3d models with colours in Dialux.

To do this, I make the model using Solidworks.
I then save it as *.sat (ACIS v 22.0).
Then I import themn in Dialux.

This all works, the geometry is imported correctly, but the objects are shown in grey.
How can I get colours in the m3d files?

A multi-coloured corner in solidworks:

Same corner in Dialux:

Thanks,

Adriaan

Hi Adriaan,

DIALux 4 and evo import colours in AutoCAD format. Since we are not familiar with SolidWorks, we do not know if this software can export this.
Alternatively, you can import the SAT model into DIALux 4, apply the material to the surfaces and save it as M3D.
This can then be read back into DIALux 4 or evo.

Best regards,
