Sport floodlights aligning luminaires correct Cplanes or G

Post by mrlicht » Mon Oct 02, 2017 3:02 pm

Hi

I'm simulating lighting for football stadion using Atlis luminaires by thorn lighting.

I would like to know using the available photometric data diagram (http://www.thornlighting.com/en/product ... 1/96263370).

How would I know to align (rotate) my floodlights to the correct z rotation, Cplane or Gamma plane?

Or does Dialux by default already choose the correct value?

Thank you in advance.

Dear mrlicht,

DIALux uses by default the correct value.

Csuleiman

Thanks for the quick reply.

Oke, the reason I'm asking this question is that in the past I've imported street luminaires (file type ies) and had situation where the luminaire were rotated incorrectly.
It's only because of the rectangular shape was I able to determine that the luminaire were rotated incorrectly.

This is why I have my doubts.

In the situation I'm in now I have sport floodlight luminaires (file type uld) and these have a square shape so neither 3D distribution array or the limunaire shape can help me clearly see if DIALux has indeed correctly aligned the luminaires.

Dear mrlicht,

DIALux uses the LDC which is defined by the photometry of the ULD file. To check it you can switch the display for 3D light distribution. If you would like to rotate the LDC by 90°, then you can do it directly in the property page "technical data" when selecting the used luminaire.
