I'm new to this lighting world, but not new to physics.
Luminance is the power from unit area into unit solid angle, right? It is a function of direction (two angles), in other words, it's a differential (not integral) quantity. So it should be represented as some 2D image, at each point (which yes, is difficult to visualize).
When I get the calculated result, shown for example in false colors, is it the luminance value if viewed perpendicularly to the surface? Or some average? Is there a way to get luminance as the (true) function of angle(s) at each point? Is it possible in 8 evo version?
I think I understand why you did it this way (single number) — because in your typical use cases it's good enough. But in my case it's not, so here comes my qeustion.
