street light design - override boom length?

Post by wizzle89 » Tue May 10, 2016 11:12 pm

Hi there. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

I'm designing a simple street layout with a main road way, a parking lay-by on either side and a sidewalk on either side of that. My poles are to be mounted 2 feet in on the sidewalk. To accomplish this I need to set my "Pole Distance from Roadway" to 20 feet and my "boom length" to 5 feet.

However, when I change either my boom length or pole distance, it automatically changes the other. i.e. a 20 foot pole distance will automatically override the boom length to 20 feet.
Is there a way to have a boom length and a pole distance different values from each other?

Thanks,
Will.

Dear wizzle89,

The pole distance from roadway always influences the boom length. When you change a value, the other is automatically adjusted. The sketch in evo makes it actually quite good clear. The two parameters must necessarily depend on each other.
