Updated Building Models

Post by davidgen » Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:29 pm

Hi,

I'm working on the lighting design for a large project where the building design is still changing and we regularly receive updated Revit models from the architect. I have imported the model into DIALux evo using an IFC file and made progress with lighting layouts. If we then receive an updated model, is it possible to update the building model in DIALux while keeping the lighting layouts created up to that point? Or is it possible to copy the luminaire layouts and scenes over to a new DIALux file containing the new imported model?

Thanks,
David

Dear David,

Every time when starting an IFC import process a new project file will be started. It is not possible to update the IFC in any way nor to copy the luminaire layouts to a new project. Please have also a look at the following threads:

Thanks for your response.

Are there any plans to allow IFC model updates in existing projects in the future?

Dear David,

We have added this point to our improvement list of evo which is the basis for the upcoming evo version. We will discuss this issue with our product owner. So, maybe the feature of updating IFC models in the same project will be implemented in the future.
