How to consider tree's influence

Good evening,
I am modeling a road with a row of trees on the sidewalk. The poles will be on the same alignment between the trees. I am wondering if it is possible to consider the trees in the calcution because of their height (around 8m):could it influence lamp's flux?

Hello Francesco,

As we integrated in DIALux the European norm EN 13201, which defines the calculation of roadways, this norm only allows straight roads without any objects (e.g. trees). So, if you want to realise a lighting planning according to the norm, you are restricted to the defined parameters.

DIALux users often expressed their wish to use “real” situations for street lighting planning. That is not possible in a design according to EN 13201 or the obsolete DIN 5044. The “standard street” does not encompass curves, the possibility of changing single luminaire technical values or positions or to insert trees.

If you would like to create a street in an exterior scene, then you can insert the required trees as finished 3DS objects in evo or use the objects which we already provide in our objects' catalog. As already mentioned above, the street planning would not be standard.
Please keep in mind that it is not possible to get the results for a street observer, nor the Lm, Uo, Ul, SR and TI in the building and outdoor planning. These results are only calculated in a real street lighting planning according to the norm EN13201.
