the new lumsearch is unusable

Post by ittayd » Tue Jan 29, 2013 5:44 am

The new lumsearch, while nicer GUI wise is not usable for me:
1. adding search terms reduces results to just a few. E.g., I open a new page, add "ceiling recessed" mounting type and get 3 results back.
2. There seem to be far less options to search.

And btw, why isn't lumsearch integrated with dialux evo?

Also, searching for dimension ranges seems not to work (i put in 6 for maximum length and click 'apply' and the value is cleared and search results are no different)

How do I search for diameter (is it length or width or both)?

Can I change the measurement units to centimeters?

Hello ittayd,

Thank you for your inquiery and sorry about our delayed reply!

Actually, the change of the frontend had no impact to the available search criteria or to the search behaviour of LUMsearch at all. Even the presented data is the same.
I assume, that there just have not been any products fitting to your search parameters. The only difference is, that we decided to find a better arrangement for the presented criteria: We got many feedbacks regarding the old menu. Most users had troubles finding the criteria they needed. Therfore we built up a thematic structure and sorted the existing criteria into those "themes". For example, you can now find lamp type, flux, number of lamps combined in one section "Illuminant". This allows you to set every search parameter for the desired equipment at one place.

To search for a diameter simply choose "round" and enter the diameter in one (or both) fields for width or length.

The integration into DIALux evo (and DIALux 4) already exists since evo 1: Just open the manufacturer page in evo and look for LUMsearch. There you will have direct access to our search platform. In DIALux 4, LUMsearch is listed as "Online catalogue".

Currently the units of measurements are coupled to the language. We will change that in a future version and we are planning to make this feature configurable for users.

If you have any remarks or further questions about LUMsearch, please feel free to contact us at any time!

Kind regards
Thorsten Kock
