What is the difference between Discrete and COB LED Lights?
Which is more efficient? and any specific guide whuch suggest where to use Discrete and COB LED Lights?
Thanks,
Gaurav.
Discrete and COB LED Lights
Re: Discrete and COB LED Lights
Hello Gaurav,
COB = Chip-on-Board
- Typical applications are mainly light spots, round ceiling lights, retrofits, etc.
- low thermal resistance and high efficiency
- high uniformity
- Longer service life
Discrete LED components
- mounted on a common MCPCB (Metal Core PCB) do not produce a homogeneous emission, but optical hot spots, for example.
- high thermal resistance
- Application area with high-power LEDs or PLCC LEDs, with which the light requirements can be realized more cost-effectively.
