two way traffic

Post by a_zabihi » Tue Jun 23, 2020 9:16 am

Hello,
I was planning a street lighting scenario in which the street is a two-way traffic, 8 meters wide.
I did one by using a roadway with 2 lanes 4 meters each (8 in total) and another one with two 4-meter wide motorways. Each of which yielded a different result regarding light pole span and overhang.
Looming question is, however, which one of the mentioned street plans better represents a two-way 8-meter wide street?
Any Ideas?

We would like to check the problem directly in evo. Therefore please provide us with the evo project file for analysis.
It would be of help if you could send us the link to this topic so that we could better assign this issue. Our email address is 'Support@dial.de'.

Hello a_zabihi,

Thank you for sending us your project file. The different results are due to the fact that, on the one hand, two valuation fields per roadway were used. You would have to go and delete the two street valuation fields and then select a common valuation field for both roadways. In addition, the grid of calculation points must be identical. We have sent you the edited project where we have already made the adjustments. The calculation results are correct in both road geometries you are looking at. Depending on the requirements of your lighting design, you will of course receive different calculation results, but they all comply with the EN 13201 standard.

Best regards,
